Liquidity analytics focuses on the capability of pulling work to the in-progress lane of your Kanban board. So, it plots the chart based on the number of pulls into a smart lane for a specific period. You can also find the volatility trend in pulling the card into the value stream in the Volatility chart.
Filtering the Data Set
- Navigate to Board > ESP Module, and then select the Smart Lane and enter the start and end date for which you want to plot the chart.
- The chart is plotted based on the card count as Unit of Measurement (UoM) in the Capacity analytics page.
- You can perform any of these activities to further refine your search and narrow down the scope of the chart:
As you apply any of these filters, the chart will be refreshed and rendered automatically.
- Select any of these attributes: like Item Type, Priority, Size, or Class of Service to plot the chart. You can further refine your filter by selecting particular attribute values. For example, if you have selected ItemType as filtering attribute , then you can further select Change Request and Defect to narrow down the scope of the chart.
- You can also define the Start and End lane to further filter your data on the chart.
Reading the Diagram
- This is a feeder CFD chart (image 1) where you can specify the date range by dragging the slider. In the image 1, the date range selected is 30 Sep to 27 Dec.
The pie chart distributes the cards of that selected date range into card types.
- In Image 2, Volatility in pulling cards into the smart lane is depicted in graphs. Volatility is measured in number of cards being pulled on a daily or weekly basis. Higher is the volatility, greater is the trend in uneven pull across various time stamps. The bar chart on the side of it shows that single card was not pulled even for more than 10 days.
Formula used for calculating diff is (n-(n-1))
- In image 3, Liquidity chart shows the weekly pulling of cards for action. The graph depicts comparatively Steady pull with some higher spikes. The bar chart on the right side shows the days taken for pulling x number of cards. As per this chart, no card was pulled for highest number of days.
Interpreting the Diagram
Liquidity and volatility charts give you an insight of how steady and consistent is your pull activity, how stable it is across various time stamp, how it fluctuates throughout the chosen period. The overall depiction of your current Liquidity helps you to make a balance between demand and supply in the system.
